New Kid on the Block: Diagnosing Organizational Development Issues Using Data

9/16/2009  By Steve Weingarden, Ph.D.

In this scenario-based case study, undergraduate business or HR majors explore how to diagnose organizational issues, particularly as they apply to talent management and organizational socialization and onboarding. Students will learn how to judge the accuracy of opinions versus data; develop an approach to gather meaningful data; understand the importance of having a strategy to develop a diverse talent pool of qualified candidates; and learn the importance of onboarding and socialization in job satisfaction and retention. This case study includes a student workbook and an instructor’s manual.
