2010 Employment Law & Legislative Conference

March 17 - 19, 2010
Hyatt Washington, Capitol Hill

The upcoming months could see an enormous amount of activity on workplace legislative issues as Congress gears up to position their party for power in the pivotal November 2010 mid-term elections.

During these volatile months, it will be absolutely vital for HR professionals to get the most up-to-date information on these issues.

The 2010 SHRM Employment Law & Legislative Conference provides HR professionals with an ideal forum to learn, discuss, network and engage with the top workplace law minds in the country.

And new this year, we’ve moved to a new location, the Hyatt Washington, a premier venue that is larger and more convenient to Capitol Hill.

This conference has sold out early two years in a row…don’t miss out on your opportunity to get informed on the most important workplace legislation for 2010.

 Capitol Hill Visits

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to visit the congressional offices of your U.S. senators and representative. SHRM brings you a unique chance to let them know, in person, how pending workplace legislation affects you as an HR professional. In so doing, you will be joining over 200 of your colleagues in exercising your HRVoice—many of whom have heralded past Capitol Hill visit as the highlight of their conference experience.

The appointments are scheduled by SHRM in advance, a briefing is held to familiarize you with current legislative issues, and a special concurrent session is scheduled Wednesday afternoon to help you practice what to say in your visits. During lunch on Thursday, you and other SHRM members from your state delegation will sit together before your visits to share experiences and ideas for the group Hill meetings.

To participate in the Hill visits, you must sign up by March 2, 2010.
